Azadeh Monzavi has produced several large-scale intersectional feminist works that use textiles and other ‘found’ materials that open spaces for dialogue and debate across a range of audiences, and which also engage with relevant work by critical theorists of colour, including bell hooks, Sara Ahmed, Toni Morrison, and Audre Lorde. Along with a committed adherence to intersectional feminism in practice, her research also responds to current and ongoing global issues faced by the most vulnerable segments of society—embodied agency, sexual oppression, war, and natural disasters.
